As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A pioneer and leader in the field of applied neuroscience, Dr. White is an internationally known psychologist, one of the first practitioners to bring the original brain-training research into clinical practice. She helped build, as Board member, officer and president, an international society advancing research and professional training for a field now numbering thousands of practitioners. She currently serves her field of practice as vice president of the Quantitative EEG Certification Board and serves her community as Clinical Director of the Unique Mind Care brain health center in Houston. In the latter capacity, she reviews EEG-based patient testing and orders treatment using advanced technologies that can help guide the brain to higher functioning. Her scope of practice includes problems ranging from ADHD through traumatic brain injury to autism. Dr. White has contributed to numerous academic texts and professional publications and has been a frequent international presenter on brain function and training. She is also an accomplished watercolor artist.

Born to John William and Vivian Olive Whitten in San Angelo, Texas, Dr. White was a regionally acclaimed artist during the 1970's, staging one-woman exhibits at the Erdon Gallery in Houston and the Houston Bar Center, later joining group shows at the Alfred Lee Gallery and the Sol Del Rio Gallery. In 1985, Dr. White earned a PhD in clinical psychology from Union Institute & University in Cincinnati and launched a clinical psychotherapy practice known as The Meta Center that same year. Her psychology license was followed by a license in marriage and family therapy and certifications in sex therapy, addictions counseling and a Diplomate in quantitative EEG technology, broadening the scope of the Center's practice and the professional counselors and clinicians working with her. In 2000 Dr. White combined the two practices into a single entity named The Enhancement Institute, of which she was both owner and clinical director. She brought The Enhancement Institute into Unique Mind Care, which she cofounded in 2010, to take advantage of emerging technologies in the field of brain function and she serves as its Clinical Director today.
