Kyung-Jin Jung Honored by Marquis Who's Who for Professional Excellence in Toxicology

Dr. Jung was the recipient of the Young Investigator Award and the Best Lecturer Award in 2015.



    DAEJEON, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, November 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Kyung-Jin Jung has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Jung is a senior research scientist at the Korea Institute of Toxicology. Additionally, she serves as adjunct professor of the University of Science and Technology Department of Human and Environmental Toxicology, having held both positions since 2009. Her current project includes serving as supervisor of a Bio-Immune Analytical Research Group. Her work has been instrumental in the field of toxicology for the Republic of Korea as well as the international community.

Dr. Jung began her career with a BS in Biochemistry from Dongguk University in 2000. She went on to earn both an MS and a PhD from the Pusan National University Department of Pharmacy in 2002 and 2006, respectively. Following her graduation, she traveled to the United States to become a post-doctorate fellow at the National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute from 2006 until 2009. Upon its completion, she returned home to the Republic of Korea to continue her work.

Dr. Jung has contributed to the field of toxicology through her research, publications, and role as an educator. Her work has been acknowledged by both the national and international scientific community. In 2006, Pusan National University's Department of Pharmacy awarded her dissertation with the Best Dissertation Award, and she was the winner of the Best Presentation Award at the 2008 HIV/AIDS & Cancer Think Tank Meeting, which was hosted by the National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute. She was certified as a diplomate of the Korean Board of Toxicology in 2014, and she earned the Young Investigator Award from the Korean Society of Toxicology in 2015. In the same year, she was selected as the recipient of the Best Lecturer Award from the University of Science of Technology. She is the daughter of Chan-Kyu Jung and Jung-Yoon Lee, and she has a sister, Hee-Jin Jung.
