Patricia Marie Miran Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    ELMIRA, NY, November 28, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Patricia Marie Miran with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Miran celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Both an artist and a teacher, Ms. Miran has been working in New York for many years. After completing a Diploma in Fine Arts at the Art Students League in New York City in 1974, she worked for several great schools. She served as the executive director of the Lincoln Academy in Waverly, N.Y., from 1998 to 2004, and since 1999, she has been a teacher at the Jewish Community School in Elmira.

The Jewish Community School offers classes from pre-kindergarten through grade 10 for families affiliated with Congregation Kol Ami. Its purpose is to cultivate lifelong Jewish identification, community participation, and Hebrew and Judaic knowledge in a learning environment that includes spiritual, ethical and social experiences.

A member of the arts council for Tioga County Council of the Arts since 2008 as well as a teacher at Southern Finger Lakes Council of the Arts in since 2009, Ms. Miran has also been known locally for serving as a remedial reading tutor for M-G Education in her down time for nearly a decade. She worked as a library director for Cady Library in Nichols, NY, for a short time as well. Throughout her journey in the art world, she has worked as a texture artist for Battle Byte Games LLC and he has been giving private painting lessons since 2006.

Ms. Miran has held exhibitions of her oil paintings dating back to 1970, where her work was shown at the Annual Exhibition of the Art Students League. She has also been included at the annual exhibition of the Salmagundi Club, the Center for Arts of Homer, the Arts Council of Southern Finger Lakes, and most recently at the Bank Show by the Tioga County Council for the Arts. Ms. Miran has also been featured in group shows at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Tioga County Council for the Arts. Additionally, she has extended her talents and creativity into her writings, where she has published numerous poems to anthologies.

Going back to school years later, Ms. Miran completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, cum laude, at Excelsior College in Albany in 2001. Notably, she was a scholar of the California College of Arts and Crafts from 1969 to 1970, a scholar of the Art Student League in 1971, and a grantee recipient by the New York State Council on the Arts from 1994 to 1996. Included in nearly every edition of Who's Who in America since 2007, Ms. Miran has also been cited in Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women several times.
