RESTON, VA, November 28, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Linda Hays Mosely, MD with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Mosely celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In private practice for more than 36 years, Dr. Mosely is a talented, board-certified, plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in reconstructive, hand, plastic, and microsurgery. Located in Reston, VA with a second office in Alexandria, VA, she established her business in 1981, from which she serves Northern Virginia and surrounding areas of Washington D.C. For the first 13 years of her career, Dr. Mosely gained experience as a rotating intern at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She then completed an internship and residency at the hospital before becoming a surgery resident at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, followed by a clinical surgery fellowship and general surgery residency at the University of Louisville Medical Center.

Following those opportunities, Dr. Mosely worked with Dr. Harold Kleinert as a hand surgery fellow for a year, then became a research fellow and plastic surgery resident at Yale Medical Center from 1975 to 1977. From 1977 to 1980, Dr. Mosely spent time as a tutor specialist at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, worked at Clinica Planas in Barcelona, Spain with the aesthetic surgery team, and became a plastic surgery consultant with the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Hospital in Liberia. Lastly, she completed a clinical and research microsurgery fellowship at Toronto General Hospital in Canada from 1979 to 1980 before opening her private practice.

Specifically, Dr. Mosely specializes in surgical repair of the hands from trauma, congenital deformities, and repetitive motion, sports, or workplace injuries. Although she is highly skilled in hand surgery, she is very well-rounded in all aspects of plastic surgery. She is currently a licensed physician in Virginia and Maryland, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She was formerly certified by the American Board of Surgery, which was not renewed after 1987 due to her focus on plastic and hand surgery. Throughout her career, Dr. Mosely has traveled to remote locations, including such places as Monrovia, Liberia, and Equador, volunteering her time and expertise to those in need of medical attention.

First studying at Emory University in 1961, Dr. Mosely then graduated with her undergraduate degree in 1963 and achieved a MD in 1967 at Louisiana State University Medical Center. She maintains membership with the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Northern Virginia Medical Society, and the Medical Society of Virginia, among others. She was also the president of the Northern Virginia Medical Society in 2009 and is currently on the board of directors of the Medical Society of Northern Virginia. Dr. Mosely was the president of the Metropolitan Washington D.C. Society for Surgery of the Hand in 1997, and has been a member of the American Society for the Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) since 1988, where she maintains an active membership.

She also received a Patient's Choice Award recently, an honor bestowed to physicians who have received near perfect scores as voted by patients.
