    FREDONIA, NY, December 07, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Daniel D. Reiff, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Reiff celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. From 1970 until 2004, Dr. Reiff worked as a professor of art history at the State University of New York (SUNY), Fredonia. During that time, he spent three years as department chairman and taught various courses on European art and architectural history. Now a distinguished service professor emeritus, he has also contributed to the field by authoring many books on architecture, including "Houses from Books: Treatises, Pattern Books, and Catalogs in American Architecture: 1738-1950," and "Architecture in Fredonia, New York: 1811-1997." Furthermore, he has contributed numerous articles to professional journals as well.

Dr. Reiff attended Harvard University, where he completed a Bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in 1963, a Master's degree in 1964, and a PhD in 1970. That same year, he immediately began teaching at SUNY as an assistant professor of art history. He previously taught as an instructor of art history at Baylor University in Waco, TX, from 1964 to 1967, and served as acting assistant secretary for the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts from 1969 to 1970.

Dr. Reiff served as president of the Fredonia Preservation Society, Inc., from 1995 until 1998. He has been a longstanding member of the Preservation League of New York State, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Society of Architectural Historians, and the Nature Conservancy. Throughout his career, Dr. Reiff has researched and visited numerous areas in England, and in January 2008, as an emeritus professor, he led an art and architecture tour to London where students and members of the community toured major historical sites, buildings, and museums.

A National Endowment of the Humanities fellow in 1985, Dr. Reiff received a Rotary International Fellowship in 1965 and 1966. He also received an Architectural Heritage Award by the Preservation League of New York State in 1986, a Ruth Emery Award by the Victorian Society in America in Philadelphia in 1999, and a Historic Preservation Book Prize by the Center for Historic Preservation by Mary Washington College in 2001.

He has been included in several editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Education. He has been married to Janet Madej Reiff since 1975, and is the proud father of two children.
