Hair Club Offers Solutions for More Than 40 Million American Women Suffering from Hair Loss

Hair loss can be a taboo subject, but, it's more common than people might think.

BOCA RATON, FL, January 25, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Genetic hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia, is the most common reason for hair loss in women. But, they can also be affected by many other factors that cause or contribute to hair loss. Fluctuations in hormone levels, especially those surrounding childbirth and menopause, can be triggers. Other factors like stress, poor nutrition, illness and certain medications can all add to the problem and have a cumulative effect resulting in more hair loss that occurs at a faster rate. Women lose their hair differently than men, with the most common symptoms being diffuse hair loss all over the scalp or a widening of the part.

Hair loss is not socially acceptable for women and the public's perception of female hair loss can lead to low self-esteem, severe depression and even trigger unhealthy lifestyle choices like binge eating and avoiding social interaction. "For women, hair loss can be a taboo subject," said Lee Zoppa, Vice President of Marketing and Advertising at Hair Club. "But, it's more common than people might think."

Hair loss does not discriminate. "It affects women of every race, culture and age group, regardless of the type of hair they have," said Zoppa. "And, there is a simple hair pull test that anyone can do to see if they may be experiencing hair loss."

Hair Pull Test:

1. Using the index finger and thumb, grab a bit of hair (about the diameter of a straw) at the root.
2. Pull gently, but firmly, along the hair shaft from the roots to the ends.
3. Look at the hairs left between the fingers. If more than six hairs were pulled out, it could be an indication of hair loss.

For informational purposes only. The exact cause of hair loss can only be determined by a medical professional.

"If you are experiencing hair loss, the good news is you can do something about it," said Zoppa. Hair Club offers a variety of customized hair restoration options for women including non-surgical, surgical* and hair regrowth solutions. No matter the type of hair or level of loss, Hair Club can help. "For women who are just starting to lose their hair, we have EXT Extreme Hair Therapy , a program that contains Minoxidil to regrow hair and slow further loss," said Zoppa. For more advanced hair loss, there are non-surgical options that add density and fill in thinning areas around the part and along the hairline.

Hair Club also offers cutting-edge, low-level laser (light) therapy products clients can conveniently use at home, including the LaserBand, LaserHelmet and LaserComb. This technology rejuvenates hair follicles, promotes regrowth and helps keep the hair in good condition.
