Stephen Dummer Celebrates More Than 10 Years of Professional Excellence in Law

Mr. Dummer is recognized in the legal industry for his expertise in complex civil and commercial litigation



    BILOXI, MS, January 31, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mr. Stephen Dummer has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. An expert in the legal industry, Mr. Dummer has served as a managing partner for several firms, most recently with the Dummer Law Group, PLLC. His areas of expertise include complex commercial litigation, business law, forming business entities, drafting corporate formation agreements, corporate sale contract, international law, insurance defense, construction law, veteran's benefits and estate planning. Prior to obtaining his current position, he served as a partner with several large regional firms from 2010 to 2013, and was president of Arguelles Auto Sales, Inc., from 2007 to 2013. In addition to his primary positions, Mr. Dummer provides services in the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for veteran's benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Mr. Dummer began his career with the United States Marine Corps. For his service in the United States Marine Corps, he was commended as a two-time recipient of the Navy Achievement Medal for the years 1998 and 2000. He was selected as Marine of the Quarter for the Third Marine Division in 1998. He was also awarded with the Meritorious Mast in 1997 and 1998 and a Navy and Marine Good Conduct Medal in 1998. Mr. Dummer was a graduate of the 5th Force Reconnaissance Battalion -Reconnaissance Indoctrination Platoon in 1999.

After receiving his honorable discharge as a Sergeant, Mr. Dummer continued his education with Northwest College in Powell Wyoming, obtaining an AA, with Honors, in 2000. He went on to study at the University of Wyoming, completing a BA, cum laude, in Criminal Justice and with Honors in 2002. While attending law school at the University of Mississippi Mr. Dummer studied international law during the summer of 2004 at the University of Cambridge, Downing College, England. Mr. Dummer also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Chief Justice James Smith of the Mississippi Supreme Court. Mr. Dummer served as an editor for the Journal of Space Law and as an Executive Articles Editor for the Mississippi Law Journal before earning a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2006. Mr. Dummer has had his work published in many prestigious law reviews and peer reviewed journals and he continues to publish legal articles for professionals in continuing education resources.

While pursuing his degrees, he was awarded multiple scholarships, including the Presidential Scholarship, the Albert Hopkins Scholarship, and the Dan Shell Scholarship. He was also named to the National Chancellor's list and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Delta Phi, and Phi Alpha Delta. During law school Mr. Dummer was recognized with the Baker Donaldson Outstanding Law Journal Comment Award and four American Jurisprudence Awards.

Mr. Dummer is admitted to practice law in the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for Veteran's Claims, and all jurisdictions in Mississippi. Mr. Dummer is a Member of the Mississippi Bar. He has been a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Maritime Law Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, the Federalist Society, the International Law Society, the Juvenile Advocacy Clinic, Harrison County Young Lawyers and the American Inns of Court.

He has also served his community as the President of the Gulf Coast Regional YMCA's Board of Directors from 2015 to 2016. Mr. Dummer was a member of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association Quarterly Editorial Board from 2007 to 2011. He has been highly involved in children's advocacy, having served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Center for Prevention of Child Abuse from 2009 to 2010, and as a member of the Mississippi Bar's child advocacy committee from 2007 to 2010. He served as the President of the Harrison County Young Lawyers Association from 2009 to 2010.

As a respected leader in the field, Mr. Dummer has been recognized with numerous awards and commendations for his contributions to the legal industry. He was recently named as one of the 2017 Top 100 Litigators in Mississippi by the American Society of Legal Advocates and as one of 2014's & 2015's Top 40 Under 40 Litigation Lawyers in Mississippi by the American Society of Legal Advocates. The Gulfport-Sun Herald named him as one of the Top 10 Business Leaders Under 40 in 2010. Mr. Dummer was recognized as a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Graduate for the year of 2016. He has received a distinguished peer review rating by Martindale Hubbell and was listed as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine.
