Others have become lawyers, administrators of learning institutions and industries and responsible citizens of their country. Many of them left public school to go on to prestigious universities around the nation as well as those who have built very successful lives for themselves and their families, raising another generation of good citizens and just good people. She is humbled by their accomplishments, but ever so proud of them.

Ms. Crow intends to enjoy her retirement and begin a second career by writing a book. Her working title is What I Have Learned Throughout 51 Years in Education. The book is to include where she has learned valuable lessons (either through mistakes or through experimenting with new ideas), how she has grown through encounters with other educators, how mentoring has helped both her and others, as well as the weaknesses in our system that have shown up over the years including ideas that have helped those weaknesses and ideas that have not. All of this is in the hopes that she will leave a legacy for those who will follow in her footsteps.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Rita J. Crow has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.Itachievers.com for more information about this honor.
