Ki Un Song Recognized for Contributions to Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Song serves as a dental officer of the Republic of Korea Army

    SEOUL, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, February 19, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ki Un Song, DDS, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An expert in the field of dentistry, Dr. Song currently serves as a dental officer with the Republic of Korea Army. He is actively involved with peacekeeping operations with the Republic of Korean Battalion in association with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. With a primary area of expertise in pediatric dentistry, he is a member of the Korean Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Song began his career at Gangneung-Wonju National University, where he obtained a DDS. He traveled to Russia to complete a student internship with Irkutsk State Medical University. He then returned to Kyung Hee University Dental Hospital for internship & residency. He went on to study at Kyung Hee University Graduate School, where he earned an MSD in pediatric dentistry.

Throughout his career, Dr. Song has delivered presentations in association with a wide range of medical organizations, including the Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Korean Association for Disability and Oral Health, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Most recently, he was a presenter at the Biennial Conference of the Pediatric Dentistry Association of Asia in conjunction with the Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Dentistry, which took place in Tokyo in 2017.

A respected voice in the field of dentistry, Dr. Song has contributed numerous articles to medical journals. His most recent publications include "An 18-year-old patient with Prader-Willi syndrome: a case report on dental management under sedation and general anesthesia" in the Journal of Dental Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, "Management of Premature Loss of Primary Molars with Flexible Denture" in the Journal of The Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and "A Retrospective Study of Luxation Injuries in Primary Teeth: Prognosis with Splinting" in the Journal of The Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, he coauthored "Patient-orientated removable space maintainer as a decompression stent," which was published in the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (SCI) in 2016. Dr. Song previously authored "Analysis of tooth size discrepancy using Bolton's analysis in orthodontic patients" for Kyung Hee University Graduate School.
