An accomplished listee, Mr. Gessaman celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. A former budget analyst for the U.S. government, Mr. Gessaman retired as a deputy associate director in 1995 for national security at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the Executive Office of the President. During his tenure at the OMB, he was also a budget examiner, Navy branch chief, and deputy division chief in the national security division, which provides analyses and options on defense and intelligence resource issues for the OMB Director and the President. Mr. Gessaman served in the government for 31 years, beginning in 1963.

After retirement, Mr. Gessaman spent another 20 years in consulting for the EOP Group, Inc., in Washington, D.C. The firm specialized in environmental, energy and other government-related issues. He was also a lecturer on U.S. budget policies to U.S. employees and leaders and employees of foreign countries. Internationally known for his expertise, Mr. Gessaman has been the principal author of 15 editions of the book "Understanding the Budget Policies and Processes of the United States Government." The book addresses the federal budget process that is published annually by the EOP Foundation. Furthermore, he has participated in the preparation and review of reports prepared by committees of the National Academy of Science.

An analytical, honest and dedicated employee who was always focused on results, Mr. Gessaman was able to develop the President's budget requests for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the intelligence community during his tenure. His division also played a significant role in developing the post-Cold War budgets for the DOD. Honored with the OMB Professional Achievement Award, the Presidential Rank Awards of Meritorious Executive and Distinguished Executive and the Distinguished Public Service Medal from the Secretary of Defense. He has held a Bachelor of Science in industrial management from the University of Cincinnati since 1964, and a Master of Science in industrial engineering from Stanford University since 1972. He also completed the program for senior executives in national and international security at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Locally, Mr. Gessaman continues to serve on the finance committee of the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Included in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1996, and many more editions of Who's Who in American Politics and Who's Who in the World. He is the proud parent of one child and two grandchildren. He enjoys stamp collecting and horse racing.
