LOS ANGELES, CA, February 25, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In the modern world, almost everyone knows what Alzheimer's disease is. However, very few people know what struggles those affected by this horrible disease and their loved ones actually experience. Alzheimer's patients require 24/7 care and it's only natural that this pressure to take good, constant care of someone can take a toll on even the most determined person.
According to the latest statistics, almost every 4 seconds someone in the world develops Alzheimer's. Each of the affected people requires constant care. Currently, there are about 177 million unpaid caregivers of Alzheimer's, globally spending 54.1 billion hours giving unpaid care. This will cost an estimated $3.2 trillion by 2030.
In many cases, the main caregivers are the patients' loved ones who suddenly faced with the disease of a family member -- lack expert knowledge and experience. They are also under a lot of mental and emotional stress, and often lack time to fully give the support that is needed. Some of these issues can be solved by technology.
Hipo by Mosaikx is the world's First Wearable Caregiver for Alzheimer's patients. It allows family members to monitor patients' daily needs and stay connected. This innovative device allows caregivers to set up a professional and personalized plan for their loved ones, remind and help patients to complete their daily tasks and activities, instantly notifies the user when a task was missed or forgotten and provides weekly reports on the patients' progress.
The creators of Hipo are two young inventors - Sina Torabi (CEO and Co-founder of Mosaikx) and Mahbod Azadian (CTO and Co-founder of Mosaikx). Shortly after starting their company Mosaikx, in 2016 Mosaikx won the Global IoT Startup Contest in Hong Kong. Over this short time the company won numerous awards and has been widely discussed in the technology world for its innovation and creativity.
The creators have very impressive portfolios as well before starting Mosaikx, Azadian has won numerous awards himself -- he was the winner of the Creativity Award of NGN Competition at American University of Sharjah, became a Second Place Winner of Synopsys International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia in 2015, and was selected as one of the top 10 Entrepreneurs of United Arab Emirates by Shera'a Incubation Committee.
Thanks to their talents, innovative approach and creative use of new technologies, Torabi and Azadian have created a device that can improve the quality of life of both Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers all over the world.
