With more than 50 years of experience in health care and academia, Dr. Frost has been a clinical professor in the department of anesthesiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center since 2000. Prior to obtaining her current role, she served as an attending anesthesiologist at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, from 2000 to 2004, a professor in the department of anesthesiology at New York Medical College from 1992 to 1999, and at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as an instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, and full professor of anesthesiology from 1966 to 1991.

Dr. Frost began her career as a student at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, earning an MD in 1961, and completing internships in medicine, surgery, and obstetrics from 1961 to 1963. She then relocated to the United States, where she completed a residency in internal medicine at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey from 1963 to 1964, and a residency in anesthesiology at New York Hospital from 1964 to 1966. She has since become a diplomate of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the United Kingdom and the American Board of Anesthesiology.

A respected voice in the field, Dr. Frost has contributed to several publications, including as the current editor-in-chief of the newsletter Topics in Pain Management, member of the editorial board of the Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology, and former book reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine. In addition, she was the editor of the PreAnesthetic Assessment for Anesthesiology News in 1984 and General Surgery News in 1991 until 2017. She is the author of more than 20 books in anesthesiology and 150 research articles, and she has given 600 invited lectures.

As an expert in the industry, Dr. Frost is affiliated with numerous professional organizations, including the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA), the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Association of University Anesthesiologists, the Society of Neurosurgical Anesthesia and Neurological Support Care, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. In addition, she serves as chair of the Anesthesiology Foundation of New York International Scholars Program, a NYSSA charity aimed at educating anesthesiologists in underprivileged areas, where she has aided almost 500 scholars from 65 countries to attend the Postgraduate Assembly in Anesthesiology.

In recognition of her contributions, Dr. Frost was honored with the Distinguished Service Award for Contributions to Anesthesia in the State of New York from NYSSA and she was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for Contributions to Neuroscience from the Society of Neurosurgical Anesthesia and Neurological Support Care in 2017. She has been highlighted in several editions of Marquis Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.

Married to Wallace Capobianco until his passing, Dr. Frost has four children and eight grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, reading, traveling and collecting antiques.
