KELSO, WA, March 14, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John E. Janke, CH, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Janke celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Janke is a well-known teacher and mentor in the local community of Kelso, WA, who has been recognized many times for his superior skills in education, dedication to students, and sheer determination to never let anything stop him from succeeding. Originally obtaining an Associate of Arts at Lower Columbia College in 1982, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in history at Central Washington University in 1984, and a Bachelor of Arts in education and geography at Western Washington University in 1986, Mr. Janke immediately began teaching as a junior high school teacher for the Kelso, WA, Board of Education, less then two miles from where he was born and raised. Teaching social studies full-time to junior high school students for a total of 14 years, he also taught for the Longview Board of Education and the Spannaway Board of Education.

In 1999, just one year before retiring, Mr. Janke earned a Master of Education at Central Washington University. During his career, he also completed professional development courses at Seattle Pacific University. He is certified in social studies, geography, history, and political sciences for grades 4 through 12. Making the decision to take a back seat as a substitute teacher with the Kelso School District in the junior high and high school in 2000, it was a role that was less challenging and less demanding. Since that time, Mr. Janke has taught as a summer school teacher at the school between 2001 and 2003, as a Saturday school teacher between 2001 and 2004, and served on the Kelso Oversite Committee between 2002 and 2004. He spent a total of 31 years in the Washington Public School system.

In addition to teaching secondary school, Mr. Janke got his feet wet as a lecturer at Western Washington University for two years between 1984 and 1986, and again at his alma mater, Central Washington University, between 1997 and 1999. He also spent six years coaching basketball, golf, and football at Mark Morris High School in Longview, WA, from 1986 to 1992.

A longstanding member of the National Education Association, the Kelso Education Association, the Washington Education Association and Elks, Mr. Janke, who has cerebral palsy, has been honored many times not only for his teaching abilities, but for his perseverance. In 1997, Central Washington recognized him with an Alumni of the Year Award at an annual banquet that included approximately 5,000 attendees. He was also named a Leading Educator of the World by the International Biographical Center in 2005, and received The Da Vinci Diamond, a Living Legends of the 21st Century Award, Leading Intellectuals of the World, Companion of Honor, and Presidential Seal of Honor. Mr. Janke has been cited in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who in the World as well. Now fully retired from education, he enjoys reading and conducting research on historical topics, playing golf, listening to jazz music, and collecting stamps and postcards.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, John E. Janke, CH, has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
