Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A prolific figure in the fields of physics and higher education, Dr. Lee has accrued more than 15 years of professional experience in his industry. Serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology since 2009, Dr. Lee focuses his research on the construction of advanced cryogenic high-field scanning probe microscope and its application to the fundamental physics of various unconventional superconductors and other such materials. Prior to his current role, Dr. Lee formerly served as a research associate and post-doctoral associate at the Laboratory of Atomic and Solid State Physics at Cornell University from 2004 to 2009. Previously, he served as a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Physics at Seoul National University in the Republic of Korea from 2002 to 2004.

In preparation for his accomplished career, Dr. Lee first obtained a Bachelor of Science in physics, cum laude, from Seoul National University in 1995. He followed this accomplishment with a Master of Science in physics from Seoul National University in 1997, and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics from Seoul National University in 2002. Working under his mentor Young Kuk, Dr. Lee's thesis was entitled "Scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy of single walled nanotubes with inserted metallofullerenes."

An expert in the field, Dr. Lee maintains affiliation with several professional organizations, such as the American Physical Society, the Material Research Society, the Korean Physical Society, and the Korea Superconductivity Society. In addition, he has been invited to speak at 35 conferences around the world in countries such as the United States, Turkey, the Republic of Korea, and China. Most recently, he had a press conference at the American Physical Society March meeting in March of 2018 on "controlling superconductivity with spin currents" and was invited to the Sixth International Conference on Superconductivity and Magnetism in Turkey as a keynote speaker in April and May of 2018.

As a respected voice in the industry, Dr. Lee contributes as a reviewer for the National Research Facilities and Equipment Center and the National Research Foundation. Additionally, he is an editor for Progress in Superconductivity and Cryogenics. He has served as an author and coauthor of several publications, including "Switching Magnetism and Superconductivity with Spin-Polarized Current in Iron-Based Superconductor" in 2017, "Versatile Variable Temperature and Magnetic Field Scanning Probe Microscope for Advanced Material Research" in 2017, and "Real-time digital signal recovery for a multi-pole low-pass transfer function system" in 2017.

In recognition of his accomplishments, Dr. Lee has been honored with numerous accolades throughout his career. In 2002, he was presented with the Graduate Student Research Award by the Department of Physics at Seoul National University, as well as the Bombee Physics Award from the Korean Physical Society in 2004. However, the highlight of his career has been inventing a method of switching iron-based superconductivity and magnetism with spin current. Married to Jooyeon Park, Dr. Lee is the proud father of one child. Having been featured as an Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement listee, Dr. Lee has also been inducted into the 2018 edition of Marquis Who's Who in the World.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Jhinhwan Lee, PhD, has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
