Originally planning to go to medical school, she instead decided on psychology after experiencing some physical setbacks. Working for a state mental hospital for children early in her career, she not only gained a tremendous amount of experience, but she also fell in love with working with children. Remaining at the hospital until budget cuts forced its closing, she later formed her private practice to continue working with the youth.
Recently becoming a diplomate in child and adolescent psychology through the International College of Professional Psychology in 2005, Dr. Ciullo has been licensed to practice in the state of Illinois for just under 30 years. She has held a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago since 1974, a Master of Arts from the Governor's State University, located in University Park, IL, since 1977, and a Psy.D. with high distinction from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology since 1986.
Born in Chicago, just 25 miles east of where Dr. Ciullo currently resides and upholds her practice, she has been known for being active in her community, including as a volunteer with Women's Choice Services. She is also a longtime member of the American Psychological Association, the American Suicidology Association, the Prescribing Psychologists Register, the American Psychological Society, the American Orthopsychiatry Society and the Illinois Psychological Association.
