After completing a Doctor of Philosophy in clothing ergonomics from Otsuma Women's University, Dr. Lee began a research career that has spanned more than three decades. Currently, she serves as a professor in the Department of Clothing Science at Chonnam National University. She has also been an executive member of the Ergonomics Society of Korea since 1985, a liaison representative and a convenor for the International Standards Organization, and founding member of WEAR (World Engineering Anthropometry Resource).
Throughout her lengthy career, Dr. Lee has published more than 100 articles and several books. Alongside other scholars, she wrote, "comparing samples from different countries for key sizing dimensions," "a study of stewardess uniform design and related factors," "anthropometric data analysis for body shape modeling in Korean" and "anthropometry, fit and accommodation for special populations." She has also authored autonomous articles "Estimation of body size and growth patterns in Korean boys" for the Journal of Physiological Anthropology, as well as CARS 2002 Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery: Proceedings of the 16th International Congress and Exhibition Paris. Looking ahead, Dr. Lee intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career in research.
