PORTSMOUTH, OH, March 30, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Mark Linden Mirabello, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Mirabello celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Mirabello is a longtime faculty member who has been teaching history at Shawnee State University in Ohio for the past 30 years. First hired as a senior instructor of European history in 1987, he worked his way up to assistant and associate professor of European history, and finally full professor in 2005. He established the SSU Honors Program in 1990 and served as its first director until 1995. Prior to joining Shawnee State University, Dr. Mirabello was an honors program instructor at the University of Toledo for three years.

During the mid-1990s, Dr. Mirabello was a visiting professor of history at Nizhny Novgorod University in Russia. Lecturing students on a number of topics, such as alternative religions and cults, secret societies, terrorism and crime, afterlife concepts in world history, and myths and legends, he is a fascinating professor who is full of enthusiasm. Considered an intellectual historian, Dr. Mirabello is interested in what the human race thinks, and he continuously tells his students that beliefs are much more important than facts. Although his lectures often include unusual concepts, he tries not to suggest that something is either true or false, since false belief can be a force in history just as much as a true one. Intrigued by what the human race imagines about its world, its own destiny and its individual destiny, he is inspired everyday by his teachings and the interest taken in them.

Well-known for his expertise in outlaw history on the frontiers and margins of human civilization, Dr. Mirabello is the author of "A Traveler's Guide to the Afterlife: Traditions and Beliefs on Death, Dying, and What Lies Beyond" (2016), "Handbook for Rebels and Outlaws" (2009), "The Cannibal Within" (2002), "The Crimes of Jehovah: A Brief Selection from the Bible" (1996), and "The Odin Brotherhood: A True Narrative of a Dialogue with a Mysterious Secret Society" (1992). Some of his works have been translated into Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Dr. Mirabello first earned a Bachelor of Arts in history at the University of Toledo in 1977, followed by a Master of Arts in history at the University of Virginia in 1979, and a Ph.D. in history at Glasgow University in Scotland in 1988. He has since served in various roles on campus at Shawnee State University, from serving as a consultant for the "SSU University Chronicle" to establishing and advising the Ar Tyr Ar Fraternity.

Named Outstanding University Professor by the Portsmouth Daily Times in 2017, Dr. Mirabello was also named Honorary Kentucky Colonel by the Governor's Office in 1998, and was honored by Asatru Sogulega Bokasafn for his contributions in 1996. Additionally, he has made several film, television and radio appearances in light of his expertise. A longstanding member of the American Historical Association, the Ohio Academy of History, the Fortean Society in London, the International Fortean Organization and the Planetary Society, Dr. Mirabello has been cited in over a dozen editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mark Linden Mirabello, Ph.D., has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
