A clinical psychologist for Camino Real Community Services since 1997, she has simultaneously been an independent consultant with the Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Programs in San Antonio, TX, since 1992. Prior to her current appointments, she was a clinical psychologist with the San Antonio State School from 1991 to 1993, and a HCS Program Director for Educare Community Living Corporation from 1990 to 1991.
To prepare for her upcoming roles, Ms. Mayhew sought formal education, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in physical education from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1976. She subsequently completed a Master of Science in physical education at Baylor University in 1977, as well as a Master of Education in guidance and counseling at Texas State University in 1991. She is certified as an authorized provider in the state of Texas 2006, a licensed specialist in school psychology, a certified sex counselor, and a licensed professional counselor. Furthermore, she has been certified as a psychological associate, a public school counselor, and a special education counselor.
Attributing her success to hard work and determination, Ms. Mayhew maintains affiliation with several industry-related organizations, such as Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, Delta Psi Kappa, and Alpha Chi. She ultimately became involved in the psychology industry after attending a summer course in psychology, thus cementing her interest in the field.
In recognition of her exceptional accomplishments, Ms. Mayhew was inducted into Cambridge Who's Who of Executives, Professional and Entrepreneurs in 2008, named Employee of the Year by San Antonio State School Community Services in 1995, and received the Volunteer Services Leadership Award from the San Antonio State School in 1993. Furthermore, she was inducted into Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1976 and was honored with the Green Stamp Award by the San Antonio State School in 1992.
