For more than 35 years, Mr. Cole has served as a litigator with Madden, Jones, Cole & Johnson. Recognized for his expertise in trust litigation, business, personal injury, and real estate, he has represented a variety of businesses, from publicly traded entities, corporations, and partnerships, to LLCs and sole proprietors, as well as hundreds of individuals in litigation.
Originally intending to pursue a career in education as a history teacher, Mr. Cole focused heavily on athletics, particularly rowing, as an undergraduate at California State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1977. Enrolling in law school as a means of advancing his future career, he found he had a natural talent for it, earning a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles in 1980. He is a member of the California, Los Angeles, and Long Beach Bar Associations.
Influenced by his father, a Baptist minister, to help others who cannot help themselves, Mr. Cole emulated his ability to preach in front of congregations, tailoring the communication skills to legal practice. In addition, he found that his mind was more analytical and adept at prioritizing information, allowing him to focus on facts needed to prove his cases, and he is recognized as a highly skilled writer.
