An expert in the field of healthcare, Dr. Yun curently serves as an assistant professor in the Kyung Hee University School of Dentistry Department of Oral Maxillofacial Pathology, where he conducts research in molecular pathology. Prior to obtaining his current roles, he worked with Kyung-Hee University, Chungbuk National University and the University of Southern California.

Dr. Yun began his career as a student at Korea University, where he earned a PhD at the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology in 2010. Along with other scholars in the field, his research has been included in publications, including the Archives of Pharmacal Research, Biomaterials, Free Radical Biology & Medicine, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Molecular Neurobiology, Oncogene, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Plos Biology, and Theranostics.

Throughout his career, Dr. Yun has contributed to articles such as "RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis is suppressed by 4-O-methylhonokiol in bone marrow-derived macrophages", "Presenilin Mutation Suppresses Lung Tumorigenesis via Inhibition of Peroxiredoxin 6 Activity and Expression", "Smek promotes corticogenesis through regulating Mbd3's stability and Mbd3/NuRD complex recruitment to genes associated with neurogenesis", "peripheral serotonin-mediated system suppresses bone development and regeneration via serotonin 6 G-protein-coupled receptor", "Serotonin 6 receptor controls Alzheimer's disease and depression", "Physical interaction of Jab1 with human serotonin 6 G-protein-coupled receptor and their possible roles in cell survival", and "The novel cellular mechanism of human 5-HT6 receptor through an interaction with Fyn".
