With more than 30 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Lin currently works as a science professor in the Department of Engineering Mechanics with Dalian University of Technology. In the 1990s, he was a member of the Department of Mathematics and Physics, Committee of Science and Technology in the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Since 1987 to date he has mainly worked at Dalian University of Technology as a professor. Within this period, from 1991 to 1997 he worked intermittently (two years in all) as a visiting professor at the University of Wales. The first author of "Pseudo Excitation Method of Random Vibration" in 2004, Mr. Lin has found success as a writer as well, having contributed over 200 articles to esteemed journals in his field. Those achievements have been used in many engineering fields.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Lin pursued an education at the University of Science and Technology of China, earning a diploma in 1964. He concluded his studies with a master's degree from Dalian University of Technology in 1967. Mr. Lin's research on random vibration was funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China seven times for more than 20 years.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Lin has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. In 1981, he was recognized as a visiting fellow by Princeton University. He was presented with the Natural Science Prize by the state, the Ministry of Education and Liaoning Province with the People's Republic of China in 1991, 2001 and 2002, respectively. Additionally, Mr. Lin was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in the World in 2010.
