Retired trial attorney and chairman of the board for Crowe, Boxley, et al (now Crowe & Dunlevy), Mr. Stringer concluded his very successful career in law in 2000. Affiliated with the full-service law firm for just under 40 years, he was first hired as an associate, becoming director for another 32 years. Mr. Stringer also had the opportunity to also serve as the chairman of the litigation department, supervising and serving as a mentor for many young attorneys. Originally founded in 1902, Crowe & Dunlevy is the second oldest law firm in Oklahoma. Headquartered in Oklahoma City, they also have additional offices in Tulsa, OK, and Dallas, TX.
Mr. Stringer was on the board of directors for the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy for several years, where he also served in the capacity of vice president, president-elect and president. A chairman, board of directors, and member of numerous advisory committees during his career as well, he most recently served as the trustee, vice chairman, chairman, and in other roles with the Youth Services of Oklahoma County, Inc. An elected fellow and former member of the advisory research committee for the American Bar Foundation and longtime member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, where he also received a Journal Record Law Day Award in 2009 and a Neil E. Bogan Professionalism Award in 2005, Mr. Stringer was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award recently from his Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City, in 2014. He was inducted into Oklahoma State University's Hall of Fame in 1998, and received a Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1979.
Born in Sayre, OK, Mr. Stringer earned his undergraduate degree at Oklahoma State University in 1958 and Bachelor of Laws at the prestigious Harvard University in 1961. Admitted to practice by the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Tenth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, and the Supreme Court of the United States, he has been married since 1963 to his wife, Carol Ann Woodson (now deceased) and has two children. Notably, Mr. Stringer received an honorary Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University in 2014.
