After accruing more than 35 years of practiced industry experience, Dr. Jungnickel retired from his role as a senior assistant for Friedrich-Schiller University, where he started as an assistant in 1960. Throughout his career, he has contributed his vast breadth of knowledge to more than 70 articles in agricultural and horticultural journals and also obtained eight patents in the field of plant biotechnology.

An expert in his field, Dr. Jungnickel earned a Doctor of Natural Sciences through Friedrich-Schiller University. In order to keep abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliations with the International Association of Plant Tissue Culture. Over the years, he has been recognized many times for his work in the field, earning inclusion into numerous volumes of Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
