Richard Louis Grill Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Mr. Grill celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. With more than 55 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Grill has worked as an organist for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod since 2015, having previously retired from full-time career endeavors in 2009. Prior to his retirement, he was the director of music and liturgy at St. Mary Catholic Church in Muncie, IN, from 1972 to 2009, the director of music at Our Lady of Angels from 1966 to 1972, and director of music at St. Denis Church from 1964 to 1966. Mr. Grill began his career as director of music for Saint Paul's Church from 1962 to 1964.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Grill pursued an education at DePaul University, earning a Bachelor of Music in 1965. He concluded his studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, graduating with a Master of Music in 1970. Mr. Grill would later become licensed as a teacher by the State of Indiana.

Beyond his efforts within the field, Mr. Grill has contributed to numerous activities outside of his professional circles. A board member for the East Central Indiana Chamber Orchestra since 2015, he has been an advisor for the Children's Concerts with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra since 1994. Furthermore, he has served as the music textbook reviewer for the Indiana Department of Education in 2005, a delegate for People to People International in 1998, a music commission member for the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana from 1980 to 1990, and a organ concert performer for Saint John the Evangelist Church from 1987 to 1988. Mr. Grill also held the positions of music commission member for the Diocese of Cleveland, conductor of Beethoven Mass in C for Our Lady of Angels in 1972, and conductor for Theodore Dubois' "The Seven Last Words of Christ" from 1966 to 1972 and in 2015.

Likewise, Mr. Grill has contributed his services to the choir for St. Mary Catholic Church in 1973 and the Shamrockers Boys Choir for St. Mary Elementary School in 1991. He has found success with his written work as well, having penned articles on liturgy for Voice of St. Mary from 2000 to 2009. Recently, Mr. Grill has conducted Antonio Vivaldi's work for the East Central Indiana Chamber Orchestra, including "Gloria" in 2014.

In addition to his primary trade, Mr. Grill remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. In 2013, he maintained involvement with the Harvest Soup Kitchen as treasurer and the Planet Earth Singers as director. He has also been a colleague of the American Guild of Organists since 1984, where he held the roles of treasurer and dean of the Muncie Chapter from 1986 to 1990. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Grill has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Education.
