HINSDALE, IL, May 07, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Richard A. Ciccarone with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Ciccarone celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Just prior to earning his Masters in Public Administration and Urban Studies from The University of Akron, Mr. Ciccarone was hired by Valerie Hanna at the Harris Bank as a municipal bond analyst in 1977. Having arrived in Chicago eager to begin his career, he was inspired by her enthusiasm and passion for her job and emulated that spirit of productivity in his own role., Relying in part on the experience he gained as a result of Ms. Hanna's mentorship he began a lifelong career in municipal bond research and investment management. By 1982, he was promoted to municipal research manager for the Harris Bank and contributed, alongside several other professionals, to the founding of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts in 1983. After serving as vice president, director of research and a senior analyst for the Van Kampen Merritt Investment Advisory Corporation, he held senior leadership positions with Blunt Ellis & Loewi, Inc., and its successor companies, Kemper Securities and EVEREN Securities. He returned to Van Kampen in 1996, which was soon acquired by and made a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, and served as senior vice president, co-director of municipal investments, and, later, co-head of fixed income investment management.

In 2001, Mr. Ciccarone took on two new roles associated with McDonnell Investment Management LLC and Merritt Research Services LLC, new independent, initially affiliated, companies spun off from Morgan Stanley's Van Kampen unit. While maintaining his involvement in institutional asset management, he served as a Managing Director and Chief Research Officer for McDonnell until 2013. In addition, as the primary owner of Merritt Research Services LLC, he became the President & CEO of the company, which provides research and data services related to municipal bonds. As the first project manager of The Merritt System, a pioneer municipal bond database and software subscription service formed in 1985 while he was at Van Kampen Merritt Inc., he was the perfect fit to lead the organization when it became its own company. In addition to his executive role, he is also the founder, co-owner of MuniNet LLC and its associated website, www.muninetguide.com, launched in the late 1990s, which publishes information and commentary regarding municipal matters.

With more than 35 years of experience in municipal bond investment management and research, Mr. Ciccarone frequently presents at industry events and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Financial Times and Money. He has also appeared on television programs on networks such as CNBC, Bloomberg and Fox Business. He received top honors as an All-American Municipal Analyst by Institutional Investor magazine, The Bond Buyer, Smith's Research & Gradings and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. A former national chairman and co-founder of the latter organization, he has also been affiliated with the Society of Municipal Analysts, the Chicago Municipal Analysts Society, and the Southern Municipal Finance Society.

Outside of his career achievements, Mr. Ciccarone is highly engaged on a civic level, currently serving as a board member of the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation and a recent member of the Walsh Jesuit High School board of directors. He also served as an elected trustee to the Village of Hinsdale, IL.
