Richard Gilbert, Ph.D., Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    WHITTIER, CA, May 11, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Richard Gilbert, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Gilbert currently serves as a consultant for the World Bank Group and Global Development Initiatives. He previously served in academia as a psychotherapy researcher with the University of California at Santa Barbara, as a researcher and coordinator for the Catalina Island Marine Institute, and as a researcher at the Marine Science Institute at the University of California. He also served in education as an adjunct professor of science in the research and education department at the University of Phoenix, as a science teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, as a science and calculus teacher at the American International School in Johannesburg, South Africa, and as an instructor and researcher at the University of Southern California. He also acted as an education development consultant with numerous national and international agencies. In addition, Dr. Gilbert held a number of administrative roles, having acted as the head of the department of science at Valley High, as the chief academic officer at the American University of Health Sciences, as president of Global Development Initiatives, Incorporated, and as the director of scientific research.

Dr. Gilbert received a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 1997. He also completed doctorate level coursework at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he received a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the California Science Teachers Association, the National Science Teachers Association, the American Educational Research Association, the Comparative and International Education Society, the Order of International Ambassadors, the International Red Cross Geneva Conventions, and the American Red Cross Disaster Assistance and International Services (Now The American National Red Cross). He also acted as a researcher for the General Research Corporation and the Akela Corporation.

Dr. Gilbert was honored with numerous awards and commendations for his outstanding contributions to the industry. He was recognized as an Outstanding Teacher of Advanced Biological Sciences at the National Science Foundation in 1986, and as a Son of the United States of America by the Historical Preservations of America, and he was commended with the Faculty Excellence Award by the University of Phoenix and the Distinguished Service to Science Award. The National Science Foundation also honored him as a California Science Fellow and Eisenhower Fellow in Research, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration recognized him as a Robotics Education Grantee. In recognition of his professional excellence, Dr. Gilbert has also been featured in Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
