Constance Glasgow, MD, Celebrates More than 55 Years of Professional Excellence

Dr. Glasgow received the Women of Distinction in Capital Region Award by Senator Hugh T. Farley in 2014



She was most recently presented with the Key Award for 50 Years of Service to the People of Clifton Park by the Town of Clifton Park, NY, in 2017.

    CLIFTON PARK, NY, May 15, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Constance Glasgow, MD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With more than 55 years of pediatric experience to her credit, Dr. Glasgow has worked as a physician with a private practice in Clifton Park, NY, since 1966. In 1998 she joined Capital Care Medical Group. In 2017 Capital Care merged to become a division of Community Care. Dr. Glasgow began her career as an intern with SUNY Upstate Medical University from 1960 to 1961, and as a pediatric resident at the Jacobi Medical Center with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1961 to 1963.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Glasgow pursued an education at Hunter College, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1955. She received her medical degree from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1960. Licensed to practice medicine by the state of New York, Dr. Glasgow would go on to become certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Glasgow was Chief of Newborn Services at Bellevue Maternity Hospital, Niskayuna, NY from 1986-2003. She was also a Clinical Assistant Instructor in Pediatrics at the Albany Medical Center for 20 years. She served on the Neonatal Advisory Committee at Bellevue Maternity Hospital, now a part of Ellis Medicine and the Ethics Committee for Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. Dr. Glasgow worked on the Committee on Special Education Services for the Shenendehowa Central School District, on the board of trustees with Seton Health at Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare, on the Albany Hudson Valley Physician's Associate Program and as a volunteer for the Public Health Clinic in Saratoga County, NY. Beyond her efforts within her field, Dr. Glasgow has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She has served as the co-chair for the National Trends Committee for Albany District Links, Inc., since 1999. Likewise, she has been a member of Habitat for Humanity from 2014 to 2016. She was also a member of the Tropical Medicine Delegation to China for the Citizen Ambassador Program in 1988.

In addition to her primary profession, Dr. Glasgow remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has maintained membership with the American Heart Association, the American Women's Medical Association, the Medical Society of the State of New York and the Schenectady County Medical Society. An emeritus member of Albany District Links, Inc., Dr. Glasgow has been involved with the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church and the Women's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Glasgow has accrued several accolades and honors throughout her impressive career. Honored among the Best Doctors by the Capital Area Peer Services in 2017, she was most recently presented with the Key Award for 50 Years of Service to the People of Clifton Park by the Town of Clifton Park, NY, in 2017, the Service to Community Award by the New York State Assembly in 2017, the Richard Day Pediatric Teaching Award from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 2015, and the Women of Distinction in Capital Region Award by Senator Hugh T. Farley in 2014. A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she received a Certificate of Appreciation and New York State Community Distinction Award from Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2012, the Best Doctors of America Award from 2007 to 2010, the Henry A. Callis Jewel Award for Medicine from the Beta Pi Lambda Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity in 2009, the Jane Golub Award for Excellence in Women's Healthcare in 2008, and the Juliette Low Woman of Distinction Award from the Girl Scouts of America. Recognized as the first pediatrician to open a practice in Clifton Park, NY, Dr. Glasgow was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
