Jane Schuyler Celebrates More than 45 Years of Professional Excellence

    JACKSON HEIGHTS, NY, May 22, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Professor Jane Schuyler has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With more than 45 years of industry experience, Dr. Schuyler has been recognized as professor emeritus of fine arts of York College of the City University of New York since 1996, having been a professor from 1993 to 1996, associate professor from 1988 to 1992, and assistant professor from 1973 to 1987. Dr. Schuyler began her career as an associate professor at LIU Post from 1971 to 1973 and as an assistant professor of art history at Montclair State University in 1970.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Schuyler pursued an education at Queens College of the City University of New York, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1965. She followed this accomplishment with a Master of Arts in 1967 at Hunter College of the City University of New York. Dr. Schuyler concluded her studies at Columbia University, graduating in 1972 with a Doctor of Philosophy.

Beyond her efforts within the field, Dr. Schuyler has contributed to numerous endeavors in her professional circles. Elected twice as a delegate of the Democratic Judicial Convention, she was elected three times as a female member of her Democratic County Committee. Dr. Schuyler served on the International Fine Arts Committee for the Women's Art Festival from 1974 to 1976.
Furthermore, Dr. Schuyler has found much success as an author, having penned such works as "Michelangelo's Serpent with Two Tails" in 1995, "Tiffany" in 1992, "The Left Side of God: A Reflection of Cabala in Michelangelo's Genesis Scenes" in 1986, "Dragons: East and West" in 1986, and "The Occult and Art" in 1978. Additionally, she has contributed articles to industry journals, including Notes in the History of Art. Dr. Schuyler is writing her next book, "Michelangelo and Cabala: Cabalistic Influence on the Iconography of Michelangelo's Sistine Ceiling," with the support of the Professional Staff Congress at the City University of New York.

In addition to her primary trade, Dr. Schuyler remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. From 1987 to 1989, she was of president of the United Community Democrats of Jackson Heights. She has also been involved as President of the Association of Neighborhood Democrats. Dr. Schuyler previously maintained membership with the Renaissance Society of America, the College Art Association, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Schuyler has accrued several accolades and honors throughout her career. A Summer Travel and Research Grantee with Columbia University in 1969, she was presented with a Research Award from the Professional Staff Congress at the City University of New York from 1990 to 1991. She was honored by Worldwide Branding as an Industry Expert in 2018, and will be featured in the 2019 Marquis Calendar Series. Dr. Schuyler has been selected for inclusion in many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
