    MONTICELLO, GA, May 25, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Belle Miller McMaster, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. McMaster celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Dr. McMaster, who spent the last eight years of her career as the director of advanced studies in the Candler School of Theology at Emory University between 1995 and 2003, also spent three years as the acting director of the program of women in theology and ministry on campus. Candler School of Theology, who has a reputation for preparing people to make a difference in the world, maintains a mission to educate faithful and creative leaders for the church's ministries throughout the world. One of 13 seminaries of The United Methodist Church, many of the greatest minds in theological education have been affiliated as a faculty member there.

Prior to her career in academia, Dr. Miller McMaster proudly spent six years as the director of the division of corporate and social mission, Presbyterian Church US and six years as the director of social justice and the peacemaking unit for the Presbyterian Church USA in Louisville, KY. She formerly served four years as the director of corporate witness and three years as associate for corporate witness, Presbyterian Church US.

Receiving a Bachelor of Arts at Agnes Scott College, magna cum laude, in 1953, Dr. McMaster returned to school years later, completing both a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Louisville in 1970 and 1974, respectively. During her career, Dr. McMaster dedicated significant time to the World Council Churches as vice moderator of the Commission on International Affairs and member of the Justice, Peace and Creation Commission. She also spent years as the vice president of the National Council of Churches, member of its executive board and chair of Church World Service committee. Locally, she was known for serving as the longtime coordinator of the Men's Night Shelter at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church from 1996 to 2014, as well as in various other roles within her community.

Dr. McMaster was a book columnist for "What I have been Reading" in Church and Society Magazine and was the author of an essay "Witnessing to the Kingdom," in "Witnessing to the Kingdom: Melbourne and Beyond" edited by Gerald H. Anderson, published in 1982. She contributed articles to various other publications as well, including the Journal for Preachers. A longstanding member of the Modern Language Association, the Society for Values in Higher Education, the Academy of American Religion and Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Miller McMaster was a Danforth Fellow between 1969 and 1974 and the recipient of a Stephenson Award for Excellence in Graduate Studies in 1975. She has been showcased in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1995, as well as many more editions of Who's Who in Religion, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women. Married to George R. McMaster since 1953, she has three children and four grandchildren.
