Daniel S. Weyandt Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Retired naval officer, engineer, and physicist Mr. Weyandt currently serves as a senior advisory systems architect with Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, an American global aerospace and defense technology company, designing diverse defense systems from a C4ISR system for the whole of the Jordanian Army to intelligence integration systems to cyber security systems to automatic classification systems. Employed with Westinghouse/Grumman for twenty two years, he retired from the US Navy in 2004 as a battle group ASW specialist with COMSUBLANT BGO DET 506. Beginning his Naval career when he was accepted into the Navy Nuclear Power Officer Candidate Program in 1983, Mr. Weyandt advanced to lieutenant commander by 1996, during which time he served as a division officer on the USS Simon Bolivar (SSBN 641) and USS John C Calhoun (SSBN 630), research officer at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, and in other roles. Hired by (then) Westinghouse in 1995, he started out as a senior engineer and countermeasures manager within the oceanic and naval systems division, and in 2000 had become a fellow engineer and leading engineer in torpedo defense.

Mr. Weyandt received his Bachelor of Science in Physics: Pre-Nuclear at Juniata College in 1984, followed by a Master of Science in Physics at the Pennsylvania State University in 1992, a Master of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island in 1995, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Catholic University of America in 2013. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and Sigma Pi Sigma national physics honor society.

A longtime associate director of the Altoona Horseshoe Chorus from 1978 to 2000 and a current chorus officer with the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Mr. Weyandt has served as a volunteer career advisor at Juniata College since 2004 and a volunteer religious educator at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Baltimore from 2004 to 2012. He has been the bass soloist at Govans Presbyterian Church in Baltimore since 2012.

The recipient of two Navy Achievement Medals, two Navy Commendation Medals, and two Defense Service Medals, Mr. Weyandt has been married to Laura Anne Weatherington since 2001 with three children. Mr. Weyandt has been highlighted in nearly 30 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World.
