VAN NUYS, CA, June 06, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jenik Esterm Simonian Cook with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Cook celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Playing with clay as a child and making all kinds of designs, Ms. Cook never imagined that her hobby would evolve into such a successful and rewarding career in her adult years. Today, she is a brilliant artist who has been drawing, painting and creating beautiful sculptures and pottery that range from six inches tall to over three feet in height. Known as an abstract expressionist, Ms. Cook's works of art have been inspired by her cultural heritage, as well as her surroundings. Her paintings, in particular, have been described as bold, with a controlled range of colors, light and splashes, as well as shapes and lines all infused into her pieces.

Born in Iran, Ms. Cook worked as a registered nurse in her home country before venturing to the United States in 1964. She has since studied with artists Hossein Delrish in Iran, Barbara Lae in Scotland, Chalita Robinson, Jake Lee and Alex Vilumsons, and has been featured in one-woman shows across Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center, the Bakery Digital Post Production Center, the West Wood Federal Building and the Hilton Hotel, as well as at the Orlando Gallery in Los Angeles. She has also been exhibited in group shows all over the country, including the L.A. Convention Center, the L.A. Art Expo, the Las Vegas MGM Convention Center and the Art Expo in New York. Notably, she was exhibited in the Rheinfelden Town Hall and the Gallery Merkel in Grenzack, Germany.

Ms. Cook served as a resident artist at the Orlando Gallery. Awarded with an Honorary Professorship in Italy, she has since received a Best of Show at The Fine Arts Competition and Exhibition at the New Year Kickoff Celebration as an Iranian Visual Artist in 2011, an Excellence Award in 2011, which was granted by the Seyhoun Gallery, a True Face of Leonardo Da Vinci Prize for Arts in Italy in 2009, a Michelangelo Award, a Martin Luther King Human Rights Award in Italy in 2009, a Showcase Award from ArtSlant in 2009, and American Art Awards seven years in a row.

Of Ms. Cook's work, Marlene Donuhue of ArtScene writes, "What brought me to Jenik's art work: her subtle understanding of her creative impulse, and her work which is full of exuberance for life and art." Josef Woodard of the Los Angeles Times writes: "Jenik's artwork has sheer energy, whatever the subject, whatever the style every brush stroke is alive and vibrating, and yet laid down with certainty."

Paying tribute to the many teachers that she had in Persia, Ms. Cook notes that they were some of the most kind, caring and loving individuals and she is forever grateful to these mentors. In the near future, she will be recognized in a book that was written about her in her home country of Iran. Married to her husband Carrol Ross Cook since September 1961, she has two children and several grandchildren and has been showcased in more than 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
