    CHARLOTTSVILLE, VA, June 11, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present White McKenzie Wallenborn, MD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Retired otolaryngologist and clinical professor Dr. Wallenborn taught at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and was a physician and partner at Albemarle ENT Associates, Ltd., from 1961 until 1994. Focusing his career on a surgical specialty that deals with conditions of the ear, nose, and throat and related structures of the head and neck, Dr. Wallenborn completed his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina. He then earned a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Virginia, completing an internship in internal medicine and pediatrics and a residency in internal medicine at North Carolina Memorial Hospital He then held a residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Virginia Hospital.

A diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Wallenborn has served on the board of directors for the First Virginia Bank of Blueridge and as an aircraft accident investigator and accident prevention counselor for the Federal Aviation Administration. He also spent 15 years as a member of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Commission. An elected fellow and former chapter president of the American College of Surgeons, member and former president of the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and the University of Virginia Medical Alumni Association, Dr. Wallenborn has been a member of the Virginia Council for the Deaf.

Dr. Wallenborn is the founder of the Barbershop Quartet Singing Group and Chorus, which he established in 1967, he also enjoys serving as a Scottish bagpipe band drummer, loves flying, photography, hiking, and studying American history. Devoted to defending Thomas Jefferson's legacy, Dr. Wallenborn is the coauthor of the 2016 book "The Jefferson-Hemings Myth: An American Travesty" with Eyler Robert Coates Sr. Furthermore, he has authored various articles on such topics as Amelia Earhart, Lewis and Clark, The Louisiana Purchase, and the Bermuda Triangle. Dr. Wallenborn is a former volunteer guide, researcher, and fundraiser for Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, and he is a past president of the Stonewall Jackson Council for the Boy Scouts of America, where he also served as vice president of the southern region and member of the national council.

During his career, Dr. Wallenborn has contributed multiple articles in peer reviewed journals relating to his areas of expertise. Coming from a long line of physicians, including his grandfather and great-grandfather, he has been cited in the 22nd and 23rd editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest. Married since 1954 to his wife Lucy Abbot Henderson, Dr. Wallenborn has three children.
