SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 11, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nothing says Gay Pride as the colorful and bombacious parades that pour out onto the streets of every major city around the world. It's more than a normal parade, it's more than a party! It is a celebration and demonstration of cultural and legal achievements by and in favor of the LGBT community. Since 1970, June has kicked off LGBT Pride Month (not to be confused with LGBT History Month, which is an annual observance of LGBT history/rights and related civil rights movements). As a result, many pride events are held throughout the world during this month to recognize and celebrate the impact LGBT people have had. To pay homage to these worthwhile and momentous events, we have put together a list of our favorite Pride Parades around the globe.

Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv hosts its annual pride parade, attracting more than 100,000 people, making it the largest LGBT pride event in the Middle East. The Tel Aviv Pride Parade is partly funded by the city's municipality, which shows the support of the local government. The first Pride parade in Tel Aviv took place in 1993. This year it will be held on June 8th and it will start at 10:00 am with a large fair at Me'ir Park (Gan Me'ir) and then move along the streets of Tel Aviv towards the city's Charles Clore beach where a giant beach party will be held until 3:00 pm with live shows and entertainment. This year it is expected that more than 100,000 will attend.

San Francisco
San Fran is the epicenter of gay pride activities. San Francisco Pride, as it is known, is one of the oldest and largest LGBT parades in the world. This year the parade will be held on Sunday, June 24th at 10:30 AM to signal the end of the planned events. It is expected that more than 2 million marches will walk and dance from Embarcadero (Market Street and Beale) to the Civic Center with more than 100,000 spectators. This weekend-long festival includes music, gourmet food, and more than 300 exhibitors. This year's theme is "Generations of Strength." The parade is free and open to the public.

Madrid
Madrid Gay Pride celebrations will takes place from the June 28th to July 8th. The Pride is known locally as Orgullo or Mado (Madrid Orgullo). The parade will be held a little later this year on July 7th at 6:00pm. It will start on the Atocha station (Glorieta de Carlos V) and after crossing the entire Paseo del Prado, it will end at Colon. Make sure to visit Chueca, Madrid's popular barrio (neighborhood), which is the epicentre of all things gay during the Pride Week. There will be plenty of things to do including an extensive cultural program that will flood the city's main streets and squares with music, dancers, performing and visual arts, sporting competitions, children's activities and more.
