Previously, Mr. Ford completed service at the rank of lieutenant with the United States Army National Guard from 1971 to 1977 and commissioned officer for the Massachusetts National Guard from 1970 to 1976.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Ford pursued an education at Fryeburg Academy, graduating with the completion of college preparatory coursework in 1966. He continued his academic efforts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1970, earning a Bachelor of Science in political science and psychology. He concluded his studies in 1971 at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Ford received a real estate license in 2006 and certification as a Buyer Representative in 2008.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Ford has participated in numerous endeavors in his community. Since 2004, he has been the chair of the Boston Ward 5 Democratic Committee. He has also contributed to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Realtors from 2016 to 2017. Mr. Ford has maintained involvement as secretary of the Democratic City Committee, past vice-president of the Board of the Schwartz Center for Children, former chair of the UMass Dartmouth Building Authority, and on the Board of Directors for the SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce, formerly known as the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to his primary trade, Mr. Ford remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has been a member of the New Bedford Economic Development Council, Multiple Listing Services, Accredited Buyer's Representatives, and the Realtor Association of Southeastern Massachusetts. Mr. Ford has also been active with Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Ford has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career.
