SEOUL, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, June 22, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Yijung Chung, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A professor in the department of physical therapy in The Graduate School, Sahmyook University since 2006, Dr. Chung has been excelling in her field for more than 11 years. In preparation of her current appointment, Dr. Chung earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Yonsei University's Department of Rehabilitation.
Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Chung has contributed to several organizations and publications. She has been the editor-in-chief of the Academy of Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science since 2012, the editor of the Journal of Korea Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Association from 2014 to 2016, and the editor of the Journal of Special Education & Rehabilitation Science since 2016. She has further maintained membership with the Korea Physical Therapy Association.
Notably, Dr. Chung's work was recognized in the top 30 papers downloaded in 2016 as documented in The Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine, including "Treadmill Training with Virtual Reality Improves Gait, Balance, and Muscle Strength in Children with Cerebral Palsy" in 2016, and "Weight-Shift Training Improves Trunk Control, Proprioception, and Balance in Patients with Chronic Hemiparetic Stroke" in 2014. Additionally, Dr. Chung has been the president of the Academy of Women Health in Physical Therapy in Korea since 2017.
In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Dr. Chung was presented with the Achievement Award from the Academy of Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science in 2017. Looking toward the future, Dr. Chung aspires to continue teaching young professionals in the department of physical therapy.
