CANTON, NC, June 27, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Magnolia B. Thomas has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After accruing nearly 40 years of practiced educational experience, Ms. Thomas retired from her role as principal of Buncombe County Schools in 2012. Prior to becoming principal, she served as the assistant principal for 14 years. At the start of her career, she served Buncombe County Schools as a chemistry teacher, career ladder evaluator for the state of North Carolina, and then administrator. Although the last role was supposed to last for three years, she was persuaded into maintaining her path in educational administration.
Before entering the field, Ms. Thomas earned a bachelor's degree from Elizabeth City State University, which she was able to attend due to the generosity of a former French teacher's church that provided her with a scholarship. Subsequently, she returned to school to earn a master's degree and a Specialist in Education from Western Carolina University. In the coming years, Ms. Thomas intends to continue enjoying her retirement and giving back as a Church Deaconess and secretary/treasurer of the Usher Board and Church Board member at Pleasant Grove Baptist.
