Janet A. LaMotte Celebrates Decades of Practiced Experience in Management Consulting

Ms. LaMotte earned two Exceptional Service Awards through the Air Force Association



    OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, June 27, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Janet A. LaMotte has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A retired management consultant, Ms. LaMotte started her career with the U.S. Army as a clerk-typist in Washington, DC. From there, she held the same position for the U.S. Army in Fort Belvoir, VA, and for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Dallas, TX. In 1962, she began as a secretary for the IRS and subsequently lent her expertise to the Federal Aviation Administration, the Defense Logistics Agency, and Tinker Air Force Base, where she has held the roles of clerk-typist, accounting clerk, secretary, supply specialist, and worldwide inventory management specialist between 1979 and 1998. She was inspired to enter government work when John F. Kennedy spoke to graduating seniors in the D.C. area. Over the years, Ms. LaMotte also led petitions and hearings at the Wichita Kansas City Planning Commission to have signal lights installed at three dangerous school crossings, and to stop the rezone of single-family dwellings to multifamily dwellings.

During the course of her work with the U.S. Air Force, Ms. LaMotte earned an Associate of Arts through Rose State College, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a Master of Arts in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. She was honored with scholarships from Tinker Federally Employed Women and Tinker Management Association In order to stay abreast of changes in the field, she maintains affiliation with the National and Oklahoma State Air Force Associations. She is also a member of numerous advocacy organizations and historical societies to facilitate her volunteer work with genealogy and family history for the past 20 years.

Throughout her career, she has been awarded many times for her volunteer work, earning two Exceptional Service Awards and a Medal of Merit Award through the Air Force Association, as well as a Member of the Year Award through the Oklahoma Air Force Association. In addition, Oklahoma State Toastmasters honored her with a Best Area Bulletin Award and K-3 area Outstanding Service Award. Furthermore, she has contributed to articles, local newspapers and state newspapers, as well as Air Force Magazine. In the near future, Ms. LaMotte intends to enjoy her retirement.
