SEOUL, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, July 02, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Byung-Soo Park has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Supported by 45 years of practiced experience in education, Dr. Park serves as professor emeritus with Kyung Hee University, where he started in 1973. Over the years, he has worked with the University as an assistant professor, associate professor, professor, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and dean of the Graduate School. At the start of his career, Dr. Park honed his skills as an educator through the University of Pittsburgh in his role as a lecturer.

A Fulbright Research Fellow, Dr. Park holds a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in English from Kyung Hee University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in general linguistics from the University of Pittsburgh. In order to remain active and engaged in the industry, he affiliates himself with the English Linguistic Society of Korea, the Linguistic Society of Korea, the International Circle of Korean Linguistics, and the Korean Association of English Language and Literature. Due to his extensive knowledge in linguistics, Dr. Park has been able to author a plethora of articles in the field, including "Understanding Modern English Grammar," "Constraint-based Syntax: An HPSG Analysis of English Control Verb," "Modification vs. Complementation: The So-Called Internally Headed Relative Clauses Reconsidered" and "Preliminaries for the Morphosyntactic Study of English-Korean Machine Translation." Dr. Park has had the honor of having his research featured in such professional publications as the Journal of English History, the Journal of Information Science, and "Modern Linguistics: Where is it Going Now?"

For the last ten years or so, he has been studying Buddhist scriptures concerning mind and language and their relations. He is trying to learn his own answers to the centuries-old questions like: Do we have to give up words and thoughts in order to get to the realm of enlightenment? Without words, how would thinking be possible? To what extent is the mind a part of our body? He hopes to explore a Buddhist linguist's version of the philosophy of language and mind.

From 1963 to 1965, he served in the Republic of Korea Army, rising to the rank of Second Lieutenant during this time. In the coming years, Dr. Park intends to experience the continued success of his research.
