Mr. Hornberger received his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of Texas at Austin and has since been admitted to the Texas Bar Association, the Western, Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of the U.S. District Courts of Texas, the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals, the U.S. Tax Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also a qualified third-party mediator.
Mr. Hornberger has long been a member of the Texas Bar Bankruptcy section. He is a former member of the Olmos Park City Council between 2013 and 2015 and currently serves as Mayor. During his career, Mr. Hornberger also served on the grievance committee for the Texas State Bar in District 10.
Mr. Hornberger is a longtime member of numerous professional organizations such as the American Bar Association and the San Antonio Bar Association and has served as chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution section of the Texas Bar and as president of the San Antonio chapter of the Association of Attorney Mediators. Active as a speaker at various seminars and an author and co-author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, he has been named to Texas Super Lawyers (2003-2018)(a Thompson-Reuters Service), was named Best Lawyer of the Year in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law for San Antonio in 2012 by the Best Lawyers in America (a Woodward White, Inc. publication), and has been consistently receiving an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale Hubbell since 1984.
