Mary Tomlinson Stewart Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mary T. Stewart has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in science and math education



For her excellence in the field, she has been honored with the Jack Renner Award from the Oklahoma Science Teachers Association.

An accomplished listee, Mary Stewart celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. After accruing 46 years of experience in education, Ms. Stewart retired from her role as a research associate with the University of Tulsa. She was inspired to become a teacher because her mother and grandmother were teachers as well. In the mid-1960s, Ms. Stewart began her journey in education as a teacher with Hyde Park Elementary in Vermont.

Over the years, Ms. Stewart has also taught in Marlow Elementary, Monte Casino Elementary, and Emerson Elementary. After almost three decades, she moved toward the administrative and research side of the field, working with Tulsa Public Schools, and the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Since education is always changing, Ms. Stewart remained aware of changes by way of affiliations with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Science Teachers Association, and the Coalition for the Advancement of Science.

Recognized as a Support Person of the Year with Tulsa Public Schools, Ms. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Arts from Goddard College. She further obtained a Master of Liberal Science from the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Stewart graduated with a Master of Science in mathematics and science education from the University of Tulsa.

Utilizing her extensive knowledge, Ms. Stewart co-authored "Fossils to Fuel" and "Petro Active." For her excellence in the field, she has been honored with the Jack Renner Award from the Oklahoma Science Teachers Association. She was featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in the World. In the coming years, Ms. Stewart intends to enjoy her retirement.
