With nearly 50 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Gaudreau has worked at The Wagner Law Group, A Professional Corporation, as a partner since 2009. Prior to this appointment, he held multiple positions at Ropes and Gray, including head of the employee benefits consulting practice group, partner in the tax and benefits department from 1979 to 2008, and managing partner of the Ropes and Gray Washington D.C. office from 1990 to 1994. Previously, he served Ropes and Gray as an associate from 1970 to 1979. Mr. Gaudreau began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Harold R. Tyler Jr. for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York from 1969 to 1970.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Gaudreau pursued an education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1965. He continued his academic efforts with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, at Suffolk University in 1968. Mr. Gaudreau concluded his studies at New York University in 1969, graduating with a Master of Laws in taxation.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Gaudreau has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. A frequent speaker and lecturer, he has contributed to Suffolk University as a trustee since 2005, the Beacon Hill Civic Association as director and the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay as director and board chairman. He has held the role of adjunct law professor at Bentley University from 1978 to 1980, Boston University since 1980, and Georgetown University Law Center since 1991. He was also a longtime faculty member of the American Bar Association American Law Institute (ALI/ABA). Mr. Gaudreau found success with his written works as well, having held the title of editor-in-chief for the Suffolk University Law Review and penned articles for such esteemed journals as Lawyers Weekly and the Journal of Deferred Compensation: Nonqualified Plans and Executive Compensation.

In addition to his primary trade, Mr. Gaudreau remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has maintained involvement with the tax section and employee benefits committee for the American Bar Association. He is also active with New England Employee Benefits Council, where he currently is noted as emeritus director and formerly served as founder and director. Mr. Gaudreau is a member of the Boston Bar Association, D.C. and Boston ERISA and Tax Discussion Groups, the District of Columbia Bar Association and the American Law Institute.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Gaudreau has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. He was recognized as a charter fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel as well as Greater Boston Employee Benefits Lawyer of the Year in 2010. Likewise, he was honored in the Massachusetts Super Lawyers List by New England Super Lawyers Magazine from 2004 to 2018, New England's Best Lawyers from 2013 to 2018, The Best Lawyers in America from 1987 to 2018, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business from 2006 to 2018, and Super Lawyers: Corporate Counsel Edition from 2010 to 2018. Mr. Gaudreau was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World.
