Prior to this appointment, he was a private investor from 1987 to 1994, the owner of Jones Building in Seattle, WA, from 1978 to 1986, the manager of Jones Building from 1969 to 1986, and the owner and manager of Northwest Inboards from 1974 to 1978. Mr. Jones began his career as a trainee with Jones Building from 1967 to 1969.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Jones pursued an education at Western Washington University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in business and economics in 1966. Shortly after this accomplishment, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, serving until his honorable discharge in 1972.
Beyond his efforts within the field, Mr. Jones has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He served the Building Owners and Managers Association International Health and Welfare Trust as a trustee from 1982 to 1986 and as chairman in 1986. Additionally, he was a member of the Fire Code Advisory Board for the City of Seattle from 1979 to 1986, for which he also held the role of chairman from 1984 to 1986. Furthermore, Mr. Jones was a trustee for the Seattle Chapter of Building Owners and Managers Association International from 1979 to 1986.
In addition to his primary trade, Mr. Jones remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. A member of the Financial Committee for the Seattle Yacht Club since 1987, he has maintained membership with the BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water, the National Street Rod Association, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and The American Legion. A lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, he has been involved with the American Association of Individual Investors and the Specialty Equipment Market Association. Likewise, Mr. Jones was a former member of the Building Owners and Managers Association International and the International Show Car Association.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Jones has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career.
