A celebrated consultant in toxicology, Dr. Schreiner amassed more than three decades of professional experience prior to her retirement from the industry in 2015. Most recently serving as the owner of C&C Consulting Toxicology from 2000 to 2015, she formerly acted as a senior toxicology consultant at Mobil Business Resources Corporation from 1996 to 2000 and vice president of Stonybrook Laboratories with Mobil Oil Corporation from 1993 to 1995. From 1979 to 1993, Dr. Schreiner was the manager of the Environmental and Health Sciences Laboratory for Mobil Oil Corporation.
To prepare for her illustrious career, Dr. Schreiner pursued a formal education at Muhlenberg College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1965. Soon thereafter, she attended the University of New Hampshire, receiving a Master of Science in general biology and zoology in 1967. Dr. Schreiner concluded her education in 1972, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in developmental genetics from the University of New Hampshire.
A contributor of myriad articles to esteemed journals, Dr. Schreiner has maintained affiliation with several societies and organizations to remain aware of changes within the industry. On the board of directors of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences from 1992 to 1994, she was a councilor in the Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society from 1987 to 1989 and a founding member and treasurer of the Genetic Toxicology Association from 1978 to 1981. Dr. Schreiner has additionally remained associated with the Teratology Society, the Toxicology Society and the American College of Toxicology, where she was a secretary from 1993 to 1995.
A patentee in the field, Dr. Schreiner is most renowned for her research in the development of modified Ames Salmonella/microsome mutagenicity assay to specifically screen petroleum compounds for carcinogenicity. In light of her exceptional achievements, she was honored in the Tribute to Women in the Industry by the Princeton YMCA in 1992 and was named a Distinguished Alumnus by Muhlenberg College in 1996. In her spare time, Dr. Schreiner volunteers at the Mote Marine Laboratory, Sarasota, Florida.
