Frank Edwin Eakin Jr., PhD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    RICHMOND, VA, August 01, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Frank Edwin Eakin Jr., PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. A Weinstein-Rosenthal professor of Jewish and Christian studies at the University of Richmond since 1975, Dr. Eakin was first hired at the university in 1966 as an assistant professor. During his tenure on campus, he was honored to serve as the Wienstein Rosenthal chair in Jewish and Christian studies, which encouraged his interest in the Jewish-Christian relationship.

Dr. Eakin formerly taught for a brief time at Duke University as an assistant professor and at Wake Forest University as a visiting assistant professor. He is the author of "The First Tablet of the Commandments: A Jewish and Christian Problem" published in 2004 through University of Scranton Press and "What Price Prejudice? Christian Antisemitism in America" in 1998, through Paulist Press. Dr. Eakin has also contributed chapters to several textbooks.

Dr. Eakin is a former board member for the Council for America's First Freedom in Richmond between 1984 and 2001, as well as having served on the board of the National Conference of Christian and Jews in Richmond. A longtime member of the Society of Biblical Literature, he has been showcased in several editions of Who's Who in America for his work. Dr. Eakin earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Richmond in 1958, followed by a BD at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1961 and a PhD at Duke University in 1964. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife of 60 years, Frances Crockett Eakin, and he is also passionate about reading and travel.
