SAN FRANCISCO, CA, August 03, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jiu Xiang Ni, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Ni celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Ni is a dedicated professional in organic chemistry research. He began his career in China and immigrated to the United States to study at the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Cruz, where he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in physical organic chemistry. Within a year of his studies, he helped his professor receive two grants and was asked to stay on the staff. After receiving his doctorate, he went on to serve as a research scientist with Gen Probe, Inc. He then held scientist positions with various companies, until becoming the president, founder and chief scientist with Micromed Scientia, Inc., a research center focused on cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Throughout his career, Dr. Ni has attributed his success to his hard work and to his mentors, who include his father and his teachers. His father, who was a physicist and a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University, was the first person to inspire him to assemble researchers on the application of the magnetic field in medicine.
Outside of his practical research in the field, Dr. Ni has authored 12 publications related to patents, including one featured in the Journal of Organic Chemistry and the Journal of the American Chemical Society. He is also credited with discovering the effect of surrounding magnetic fields on dipole molecular interaction, and he holds the patent for the shielding of magnetic fields as medical therapy.
