TROY, NY, August 07, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Nancy L. Morris with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Morris celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Morris taught business education at Cairo-Durham High School in Cairo, NY for three years and Berlin Central School in Cherry Plain, NY for 27 years. She also taught at Empire State College in Saratoga, NY for a year. She concluded her career in 2014 as an adjunct professor at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY for 11 years – for a total of 41 years. It was an honor to be able to teach at the college since she graduated from that school. While teaching business education at Berlin Central School, she also coached the junior varsity and varsity cheerleading squads, the junior varsity and varsity ladies soccer team, and the varsity ladies softball teams. Furthermore, she was also on the Section 2 Softball Committee. Ms. Morris experienced many changes over the course of her tenure.

Her parents were very instrumental in her career as a business education teacher and helped her throughout her life. She also credits Mrs. Lois Orsini, her high school accounting and typing teacher, and Mrs. Ann Sullivan, who was her professor at Rider College (now Rider University). Ms. Morris' career choice was something she never regretted.

Ms. Morris served as president of the Halfmoon Historical Society for six years and has been serving as treasurer since 2010. She has also been the president of Halfmoon Senior Citizens in Halfmoon, NY since 2016 and is very active at the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church.
Ms. Morris holds an associate degree from Hudson Valley Community College and a bachelor's degree from Rider College. She also took various master-level courses since graduating. She is a certified teacher in the State of New York.

Ms. Morris authored "The History of the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church" for its 50th anniversary.

She has been studying her family genealogy for several years, researching 14 generations of her mother's family prior to 1657 when they first came to America. She has also researched her father's family since the early 1700s. Ms. Morris loves doing research on others as well, which has resulted in several presentations at the Halfmoon Historical Society. One notable person she investigated was William Secor, a Corporal in the Union Army who was killed at Antietam and was from her home town of Halfmoon. Outside of genealogy, Ms. Morris enjoys traveling, sports and history. She is a longtime member of the New York State Business Education Teachers Association, as well. Notably, Ms. Morris has been cited in the 2nd, 27th and 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women.
