With nearly 55 years of industry experience to her credit, Ms. McClure has worked at Belle View Press as publisher and founder since 1993. Prior to this appointment, she held the position of administrative assistant for Wells Fargo and Company from 1986 to 1993, Crocker National Bank from 1980 to 1986, and KGO-TV from 1966 to 1970. Ms. McClure began her career as an administrative assistant for Northwestern University from 1964 to 1966.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. McClure pursued an education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1964. She concluded her studies at the University of California, San Francisco, graduating with a certificate in fine art photography. Following these accomplishments, Ms. McClure became active as a board member of the Santa Fe Women's Club in 2015.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. McClure has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. Since 1999, she has been a curator for the West County Museum in Sebastopol, CA. Ms. McClure has further contributed to the Western Sonoma County Historical Society as a board member, publicity chairman, newsletter editor, and volunteer from 1996 to 2013, the Fairview Cemetery Preservation Association as a board member since 2016, and the Sebastopol Center for the Arts on the Exhibition Committee from 1995 to 1997. In 2016, Ms. McClure also held the role of volunteer for Kitchen Angels and volunteer tutor for Communities in Schools of New Mexico.
Ms. McClure found success with her creative works as well, having served as author and photographer for "Sebastopol, California – History, Homes & People, 1855-1920" in 1995 and "Sebastopol's Historic Cemetery" in 2000. She has excelled as a columnist for the Sonoma West Times and News from 1998 to 2005. Likewise, Ms. McClure was an editor, contributing author, and publisher for "Beneath the Mountain of The Burning Bird: Bennett Valley History and Memories" in 2012.
In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. McClure has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. She was recognized for her Lifetime Service to the Western Sonoma County Historical Society in 2016. She has been presented with the Editors Award for Historical Scholarship from the Sonoma County Historical Society in 1997 and the Hall of Fame Community Award from the Sebastopol Chamber of Commerce in 2014. Ms. McClure was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
