An accomplished listee, Mr. Rand celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. With more than 25 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Rand is currently retired, having most recently worked as senior vice president for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond from 1971 to 1985. Prior to this appointment, he served the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond as a vice president from 1970 to 1971 and assistant vice president from 1968 to 1970. Previously, he held the positions of systems engineer for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC, from 1967 to 1968, electronic engineer for the Department of the Navy from 1963 to 1967, and senior engineer for the Philco Corporation from 1961 to 1963. Mr. Rand began his career at IBM Endicott as an associate electrical engineer in the product development laboratory from 1959 to 1961.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Rand pursued an education at the University of New Hampshire, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, cum laude, in 1959. He continued his academic efforts with certifications from the engineering training program at IBM Endicott in 1959, the advanced management program at the North Carolina School of Banking in 1976, and a management course with the American Management Association in 1978. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Rand obtained a lifetime general radiotelephone license from the Federal Communications Commission, as well as a private pilot license for single-engine land airplanes.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Rand has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He has contributed to the Lake of the Woods Association as a treasurer from 1969 to 1970 and graduate assistant instructor for Dale Carnegie Training from 1973 to 1974. He has held the role of volunteer emeritus for the Railtown 1897 State Historic Park from 1997 to 2014, having served the establishment as a fundraiser, tour guide, and monologue presenter. He was a planning commissioner for the city of Sonora, CA for six years in the 1980's. From 1952 to 1960, Mr. Rand completed service with the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of senior radar repairman before receiving his honorable discharge.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Rand remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has maintained involvement with The Tau Beta Pi Association, Inc. as well as with Masonic Lodges and Shriners International. He was also active with Binghamton, NY's Triple Cities Opera Company and the Sierra Repertory Theater. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Rand was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America.
