Mr. Campbell is a retired investment banker and attorney who most recently served as a managing director for Barclays Capital in Seattle, WA, for three years until his retirement in 2011. Acquired by the British investment bank, he concluded 23 years as a managing director for Lehman Brothers, Inc., when it filed for bankruptcy in 2008. Mr. Campbell also was a practicing attorney for Roberts and Shefelman for 12 years, first as an associate for four years and then as partner for another eight years, before moving into investment banking.
Formerly on the board of directors and on the Executive Corporate Governance and Compensation Committees for Pogo Producing Company and director and treasurer for the National Association of Board Lawyers, Mr. Campbell also served as president and trustee of the Washington State Society of Hospital Attorneys and board advisory member for Callie's Coffee. Active with his alma mater, the University of Washington, for several years, he was a member of the economics department visiting committee and a member of the School of Law's dean's advisory board. He is a longtime member of the university's varsity swimming alumni board. Serving his local community, Mr. Campbell was active as a trustee and president of the Bellevue Schools Foundation, nation chief of the Bellevue Eastside YMCA Indian Princess Program and trustee of the Washington Phikeia Foundation, among other organizations.
Mr. Campbell was the recipient of a YMCA Indian Princess Merit Award and a Bellevue School's Foundation Apple Award for his contributions. He has been cited in approximately 40 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law. Earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics and Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of Washington, Mr. Campbell has since been admitted to the Washington Bar Association, the Washington State Supreme Court, the Washington State Federal Court, the Western District of the U.S. District Court of Washington and the Ninth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Born in Ann Arbor, MI, Mr. Campbell later wed his late wife, Katherine Kettering, to whom he was married for 42 years. He recently remarried in 2017 to Elsa Wise. Mr. Campbell has three children and nine grandchildren, and he enjoys skiing, exercising, golf and bicycling in his spare time.
