For many years, Dr. Choi has excelled as a professor of computer science and information technology in the Computer Science Department at Kyunghee University. With his vast range of knowledge, he was driven to apply what he knew to the military system. Since the start of his career, Dr. Choi has helped to develop the Korean naval combat systems KDX-II and KDX-III, a Korean battlefield management system for armored vehicles and the Korean Army Data Link System.
Additionally, Dr. Choi served as the program manager for the development of the C2/C4I systems. One of the highlights of his career was successfully establishing the ACTD project, which was an adaptation of the latest IT and COTS technology in military C2 systems. Additionally, Dr. Choi plans to remain dedicated to adapting the latest IoT and AI technologies in C2/C4I military systems.
Backed by a Doctor of Science, Dr. Choi has been honored many times for his work in the field earning a Technical Award from the Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration in 2011. Most recently, he obtained a Dedication Award from Hanwha Systems in 2016 and 2017. Looking ahead, Dr. Choi intends to continue parlaying his extensive knowledge of the field to students at Kyunghee University.
